Heralding from Guildford, Surrey, the ice hockey club participate in the Elite Ice Hockey League; the UK’s top-level hockey tournament. They worked their way up since inception in 1992, joining the top-tier league for the 2017/18 season to join 11 others from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The team are based at 2000-seat Guildford Spectrum, a centre that opened in 1993 and has become one of Surrey’s leading leisure complexes. The first home game saw a win for the flames, paving the way for what has been an arguably promising career in Ice Hockey tournaments. In its history, the Flames have won many championships, including the 1997/8 Southern Conference and British National League title, four leagues and five cups in the English Premier League, and various playoff titles. They made history with their double-double win which saw two consecutive wins in the EPL and Cup in 2012 and 2013.
