James Acaster is one of British comedy’s rising stars. The Kettering-born stand-up comedian may be most known for his appearances on TV panel shows 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock The Week, and he is a regular Edinburgh Fringe attendee. Four of Acaster’s one-hour stand-up shows were made into the Netflix series James Acaster: Repertoire, gaining critical acclaim.
Acaster started his comedy career proving his chops at the Edinburgh Fringe and supporting the likes of Josie Long and Milton Jones on tour. He also regularly appeared on his friend Josh Widdicombe’s radio show on XFM, becoming famous for his Classic Scrapes stories. More appearances on TV and radio followed, and Acaster won two Chortle Awards in 2015 for Best Breakthrough Act and his show Recognise.
Acaster’s star has only been rising in recent years as his Classic Scrapes stories were published in book format in 2017, appearing on the Sunday Times best-sellers list. He has continued to work with Widdecombe on the Dave TV Series Hypothetical and is currently in the second series of his hit food podcast Off Menu with fellow comedian Ed Gamble.
The comedian is returned to stage with his latest show, Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 in early 2019, before heading out on tour again. Tickets for some gigs sold out, leading to Acaster's to perform more shows. Stay updated with alerts for upcoming shows and tickets to see James Acaster by following him here on TickX.
