Freshers’ Week, otherwise known as seven nights of non-stop partying, is a great chance to exploit Newcastle’s wild and wondrous nightlife. It’s the perfect time to enjoy being a student (minus the responsibility of studying), so it’s important you make the most of it.
Don’t be put off by the Geordie-shore stereotypes, Newcastle couldn’t be a better base for living Freshers’ to the full thanks to its range of entertainment venues. Flares is the perfect spot to dance to well-known tracks of the last decades; Digital is a state-of-the-art venue that hosts big club nights and international DJ sets, and House of Smith just oozes that Gatsby glamour that will have you dressed up to the nines in style.
Lest we forget the rite of passage that is The Big Freshers Icebreaker; a tradition that has been touring the UK for seven years and arrives in Newcastle on Monday 24th September.
If you love the music but not so much the dancing, there’s a continuous flow of gigs and live performances at Newcastle’s leading venues. The O2 Newcastle and Metro Arena host many big acts in music, or perhaps consider the numerous theatres, galleries, museums, sporting arenas and cinemas littered around the city.
