What do Frank Skinner, The Hollies and Barbara Windsor have in common? They have all performed upon Beck’s stage within the last forty years. The purpose-built theatre opened in the late 70s, and proposes a broad range of creative talent across artistic disciplines. It regularly hosts pantomimes, comedy, films, concerts, opera, dance performances and much more.
The vibrant receiving house contains a main auditorium and spacious theatre foyer, with additional rooms for meetings. It further features an outdoor patio set against the backdrop of fountains and beautiful botanic gardens. The theatre's size and location have supported its desire to host smaller scale touring productions, light entertainment and local amateur talent.
Beck is a community-charged venue, where it actively encourages the Hayes society to get involved. There are opportunities for volunteering or gaining work experience, allowing you to directly contribute to its success. It also caters to young children with a Kids Only Club, and adolescents or young people with its summer project; an opportunity to work under professional theatrical direction and gain new skills along the way. Beck Youth Theatre serves similar interests, educating youths so as to gain an appreciation for performing arts.
